Sounds of the two-letter hiragana such as きゃ(kya), きゅ(kyu), and きょ(kyo) are called 拗音 (yōon). Also sounds of ぎゃ (gya), ぎゅ (gyu) and ぎょ (gyo) are called yōon with 濁点 (dakuten).
*Dakuten is『 ゛』attached to the upper right of the hiragana such as が (ga) and ぎ (gi).
The small letter “ゃ” (ya), “ゅ” (yu) or “ょ” (yo) is added after the letter of “き” (ki), “し” (shi), “ち” (chi), “に” (ni), “ひ”, (hi), “み” (mi), “り” (ri), “ぎ” (gi), “じ” (ji), “び” (bi) or “ぴ” (pi).
